Faults and their manifestations, errors, and failures; fault detection, location and reconfiguration techniques; time, space, and information (coding) redundancy management; design for testability; self-checking and fail-safe circuits; system-level fault diagnosis; Byzantine agreement; stable storage and RAID; fault-tolerant networks; fault tolerance in real-time systems; reliable software design; checkpointing and rollback recovery; and reliability evaluation techniques and tools.
