Course Description

Introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) II continues development of expressive and receptive skills introduced in American Sign Language I, including vocabulary, grammar, usage, and cultural information. Distinct from “Signed English”. ASL is a natural language with its own rules of grammar and usage. Meets U.S. Diversity Requirement

4 credits

Students are expected to conclude up to 1 synchronous online language practice sessions per week with a language mentor. Each session will take up to 30 minutes of your time. The meetings will be via an online web meeting application at a time mutually agreeable between the student and the mentor. Students are also expected to purchase license to GoReact worth $30 after the start of the course. More details will be in the Canvas course page.
